The Equine Touch Foundation

The Equine Touch Foundation Incorporated is a teaching academy operated by Jock and Dr Ivana Ruddock. Originally ETF started out in 1996 as Bowen International. After making the decision not to trade on the Bowen name and developing VHT as a total seperate identity, it became responsible for the launching of the VHT and ET disciplines for the benifit of humans and Equines in Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Holland, Hawaii, USA, Norway, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Germany. With the runaway success of what originally started out as VHT for Horses, in 2002 it formally incorporated in the USA as the Equine Touch Foundation Inc. teaching the disciplines for both humans and horses.

MISSION STATEMENT

"To bring to the world a holistic discipline which can be practiced by anyone from physician to housewife and which has the ability only to benefit the well being of all humans and creatures who experience it. To practice this discipline with honesty and integrity on all who wish our help irrespective of race, color, creed or religion and to teach with honesty and integrity all who wish to help their fellow man as practitioners with humility and consideration without greed, without prejudice and for the benefit of all."

The Equine Touch Foundation as an educational establishment has three separate teaching sections:

  1. VIBROMUSCULAR HARMONIZATION TECHNIQUE
  2. THE EQUINE TOUCH

WRITTEN AND PRACTICAL EAXMINATION:

All practitioners are required to sit a full written examination as well as a practical assessment on completion to finalize their acceptance as VHT Touch Practitioners under the rules and Code of Ethics of the Equine Touch Foundation.

CASE STUDIES:

All student practitioners are required to present a total of 20 case studies over the period of their training.

OTHER COUNTRIES:

These requirements vary from association to association, and between countries. However the ETF curriculum is designed to adapt to all situations and circumstances.

Please Note:

"Some associations are requiring First Aid, anatomy and physiology certificates and are now suggesting pharmacology, pathology and many other weird and wonderful courses before accepting Practitioners as full members. Some schools are asking qualifications in these areas before even teaching students. neither Tom Bowen or I had any qualifications in any of these areas when we started. VHT or Gentle Touch is not dependent upon any 'allopathic or conventional medical knowledge' to be effective. It is my firm belief that accuracy, integrity and intent coupled with a 'hell of a lot of love' for your fellow man or horse is all that is required to successfully practice and oh yes, a good pair of hands." Jock Ruddock

The Equine Touch Foundation require no such 'prerequisite' certificates to either start training students or to join their Association. However as Complementary Health becomes more and more in demand, more and more legislation is going to be introduced, usually by people who do not have a clue what Bodywork or CH is, so things may change. Equine Touch Foundation wishes to stay proactive and not reactive to laws and rules that at the present are only storm clouds on the horizon and very often figments of the imagination.

'RESEARCH'. The Equine Touch Foundation is committed to researching, developing and advancing its bodywork disciplines. In liaison with other disciplines, instructors, practitioners and even other modalities it is continually researching, evaluating and seeking out new developments and progressions in teaching and treatments based on the principles of Accuracy, Integrity and Intent. ETF is not egotistical enough to believe that any system of body balancing and training can progress without the input from other modalities.
